Can simpledgr staff see my financial data?

No. Your transaction data is isolated to your books. SuperAdmin access is restricted to subscription and payment metadata only — they cannot see your journal entries, contacts, or account balances. This is enforced by design, not just policy: there is no code path in the admin panel that queries transaction tables.

Where is my data stored?

Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database on Neon. All connections are TLS-encrypted in transit. The application is hosted on Vercel and all environment secrets are kept out of the codebase.

Who can see my books?

Only members you explicitly invite. There are five roles: owner, accountant, manager, staff, and viewer. Staff can record entries but cannot see financial totals or other users' entries. Viewers can read reports but cannot record anything. Every access check is enforced at the code level.

Is there a record of every action?

Yes. Every money move records creator and approver IDs. Book-level actions are stored in the audit log with actor, timestamp, and description. History is immutable — nothing can be deleted or silently edited.

Can I delete my data?

You can void any transaction — this posts a reversing journal entry; the original record remains intact. To delete your entire account, contact support@simpledgr.com.

How do I report a security issue?

Contact security@simpledgr.com directly. Do not open a public issue. We aim to respond within 48 hours.

Do I need accounting knowledge?

No. Say what happened in plain words — "I sold something", "paid a bill". simpledgr handles all double-entry mechanics. All intents are available in both Bangla and English.

Is it really free to start?

Yes. 14-day free trial, no credit card required. Sign up, create a book, and start recording.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. simpledgr works on any phone browser. No app download needed.

Does it work with bKash or Nagad?

Yes. Record bKash, Nagad, or any cash movement the same way you would cash. No bank connection required — you enter what happened.

Can I create multiple books?

Yes. Create as many books as your plan allows. Each book can have a different type — shop, service, freelancer, etc. The group view shows a combined summary across all your books.

Can I add team members?

Yes. Invite members to each book and assign roles. Staff record entries, managers approve, viewers read reports. The owner controls everything.

What happens after the trial ends?

Books become read-only. Your data is completely safe — you just cannot add new entries until you subscribe. Nothing is deleted.

What is the difference between monthly and yearly plans?

Yearly plans are equivalent to about 2 months free. Monthly plans can be changed at any time. Yearly plans cover the full year in one payment.

What if I cancel a yearly plan mid-year?

Access continues until the current period ends. It will not auto-renew. No partial refund is issued — you keep full access until the last day.

How do I pay?

Currently via manual bKash or bank transfer. Submit payment from the billing page and we will verify and activate it.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

Yes. Change your plan from the billing page at any time. Changes take effect at the next billing cycle.

Is it VAT compliant?

simpledgr calculates 7.5% and 5% VAT automatically and generates Mushak 9.1-format output. Consult your tax advisor for the final filing.

Does it handle TDS?

Yes. Service books deduct TDS at source automatically on applicable intents and record it as a separate payable.

Is the data audit-ready?

Yes. Every entry is immutable, stamped with creator, approver, and timestamp. Nothing can be deleted or silently edited. A complete audit log is available in the Reports section.

Does it handle foreign currency?

Yes. Bill in USD, EUR, or GBP and collect in BDT. Forex gain or loss is recorded automatically in a separate account.

Does simpledgr store card data or handle PCI-DSS?

No. simpledgr does not process or store card numbers. All payments are manual bank or bKash transfers. PCI-DSS does not apply.
